WORLD SKILLS CAFE AT IBC
The World Skills Café is the first of its kind with the ambition to create the industry’s global, flagship event, for skills | diversity | education, bringing together international industry representatives to work collaboratively and collectively to address these critical issues that impact every company across the globe.
It is widely known that the media technology industry has a skills shortage and an aging white male workforce. In conjunction with this, there is a lack of diversity across the whole sector, whilst simultaneously, rapid innovation driving the sector forwards.
Currently there is no global forum to share knowledge and information on best practice on how to address these issues or any methods to understand how we can work collectively and collaboratively as an industry to address these challenges.
The inaugural World Skills Café will address this, by providing an opportunity for the industry to meet and share, in-depth, current issues, as well as provide a forum to create solutions to address these industry-wide issues that are impacting every business across the sector.
Participants at the Skills Cafe will be from broadcasters, streamers, OTT, vendors, OB companies, studios, diversity leaders, recruiters and education representatives.
The goal will be to have a ‘live’ Manifesto document (which can be viewed by industry) which will outline commitments made during the Café that individuals and companies will pledge to deliver, alongside a written report.
These commitments will then be reviewed in 2025 to see how much progress and action has been taken and how the skills landscape has shifted in the first year.
